RDFL Help PPG Coatings Through The Provision of Value Added Services
RDFL took over the PPG business several years ago, and in that time have seen the volumes double, and the demands for value added services increase dramatically. PPG store their products in the RDFL Birmingham depot. The product is manufactured in Belgium, and then delivered to the RDFL warehouse. RDFL then assume full responsibility for stock and inventory management.
Orders are received daily up to 3.30 p.m., which are then picked, packed and assembled ready for despatch. If a product is not in stock, then RDFL staff will mix or tint the paint in order to provide availability.
Deliveries can vary from industrial sites and retailers, through to deliveries to docks to meet incoming ships. The ship-side delivery process is complicated, and RDFL manage this area of the business very successfully, ensuring ships are met on time, and the relevant paperwork is completed correctly. This has led to PPG stating that RDFL provide the best service within their industry, a fact borne out by the service KPI's.
