RDFL Improve Associated Weavers Service

Customer satisfaction across the board is key to all industries, particularly in the manufacture of carpets where consumers look at quick, accurate and reliable delivery as the norm. Associated Weavers decided to strengthen its delivery service after experiencing difficulties when using a general carpet delivery network. They went out to tender and appointed RDFL as their sole carrier.

"We looked at several logistics companies," said Steve Elliott, Associated Weaver's Managing Director "and were most impressed with what RDFL had to offer. They provided us with a fleet of over 20 specialist vehicles, with operatives trained in handling carpets and the equipment, such as boom trucks, that are used to manoevure carpets."

"The delivery aspect of the contract is crucial. When an order for a cut sized carpet is received, it is cut and shipped out from our factory in Belgium within 24 hours and delivered to one of four RDFL warehouses. Once the cut length of carpet hits RDFL it is delivered within three days, based on a regular delivery pattern, to the retailer. The stores know and rely on a regualr delivery schedule, and as important is knowing what they ordered is what they get. A major advantage of RDFL is that missed deliveries and lost carpets, which happens when you use a general carpet delivery network, are a thing of the past."

"We are customer driven and must meet their expectations in full, which have risen in recent years. Customers see a carpet and want it instantly, therefore it is critical that our logistics are handled by an utterly reliable source, which RDFL does extremely well."
