RDFL Help Catnic Achieve More Flexible and Cost Effective Service

Catnic, part of the Corus group, manufacture steel lintels and building components for the building industry. Lintels vary in length from 1 metre to 5 metres. RDFL provide a multi-user solution, whereas previously Catnic ran their own fleet of delivery vehicles which was costly and inflexible. RDFL enabled Catnic to reduce their minimum order quantity, and reduce lead times to their customers. Deliveries range from direct to site deliveries and builders merchants through to wholesalers and retailers.

RDFL also store plastering profiles and roofing products for Catnic, providing a full stock management service across a 30,000 sq. ft. warehouse.

RDFL have become a pro-active partner in the Catnic business. This has led to RDFL taking on value added services for Catnic, such as the picking of house packs. This service allows Catnic to send cost effective bulk loads to the RDFL depots, where RDFL break down the bulk packs and pick and assemble individual house packs, picked to match individual building plots on site. This has allowed Catnic to offer their customers an unrivalled service, giving them a distinct market advantage.

RDFL provide a wide range of Key Performance Indicators, from delivery performance, through to inventory reporting and customer service issues, which are reviewed monthly with the Catnic senior management team.
